When the weather is nice there are a million things to do, but when the storm clouds roll in it can be tempting to flip on the TV and resign yourself to spending the weekend at home. The next time a little rain threatens to strand you on the couch, shake off the stormy weather doom and gloom and try one of these five fun Austin indoor activities.

1. Blazer Tag

Austin is home to the largest laser tag arena in Texas and that is just as awesome as it sounds. Try out your laser combat skills in the three-story arena or check out one of the 60 video games lining the arcade. If you’re feeling daring you can even try the new Austin Light Trail rope course situated 20 feet above the ground.

2. iFLY Indoor Skydiving

The name says it all. iFLY provides vertical-wind-tunnel-powered skydiving simulation that recreates the same free fall conditions as jumping out of a plane. No experience is required prior to your fly, simply book an appointment and be sure to arrive 45 minutes early for a brief training session.

3. Topgolf

Topgolf’s point-scoring golf games are surprisingly addicting, even for those with absolutely no interest in the real thing. Although this activity isn’t technically indoors, there are covered tee lines available so you can enjoy it in any type of weather. Play a few rounds before checking out their extensive menu including specialty drinks and bar food with a culinary twist.

4. Pinballz Arcade

Pinballz is a classic arcade with over 200 games spread throughout it’s 13,000 square foot interior. Spend time trying out their massive collection of pinball machines or grab a group of friends for the best game of Mario Kart, ever! Pinballz is BYOB and allows each person to bring in one beer at a time. Try Pinballz After Dark every Friday and Saturday from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. for an adults-only experience.

5. The Goodnight

This adults-only bowling alley is an Austin favorite, known as much for its bar and food specials as it is for the bowling experience. Want to enjoy the delicious food and drinks, but not sure if you feel like bowling? Try the free ping pong, shuffle board or billiards instead. Karaoke rooms are also available, but remember to reserve one the day before!
